On December 29th, our lives changed forever when our house burned down. My fiancée, who is disabled and recovering from a dislocated knee, was the only one home at the time. He barely made it out alive, and the experience was terrifying. Our 18-month-old son was visiting his grandmother, so thankfully he was safe, but in just a few moments, we lost everything we owned—from our clothes and personal keepsakes to the essentials that made our house a home. The shock and heartbreak have been overwhelming, but we are grateful for our safety and for the support of loved ones.
Right now, we have temporary housing with family, which has been a blessing. But we are facing the daunting task of starting over from scratch. One of our biggest challenges is that my fiancée lost a work laptop in the fire, which is crucial for earning income and supporting our family. Without it, it’s even harder to restabilize our finances and begin rebuilding our lives. We need help replacing basic necessities and making sure our son has a safe and comfortable place to call home again.
We never expected to be in this position, but we are so grateful for anyone willing to help us get back on our feet. Every bit of support goes directly toward rebuilding a safe and stable home for our little boy. Thank you for reading our story and for any help you can offer during this incredibly difficult time.
