Help Us Restore Our Hana Maui Property

The Kona Low Storm came through Hana Maui, and my family and I experienced its full force. We live in Ka’eleku, Hana Maui, and as the storm hit, the wind roared down the mountain, tearing through our property. Trees were uprooted, water lines were ripped out, and debris was sent flying everywhere. The storm destroyed our fishtail palms, broke banana and shower trees, and even twisted the tops off Norfolk pines—one of which crashed through our window. Shingles were torn from the roof, and the protective paper beneath is left in tatters.

Our tropical flowers, which we donate to community events, were flattened to the ground. Our fruit trees, including soursop, logone, and ulu, were uprooted or broken, and those that remain have lost their blooms and won’t produce fruit this season. The equipment tent was destroyed, and with the storm’s impact, we’ve lost an important source of income for our family. The damage has left us feeling helpless, but we’re determined to rebuild.

We need financial support to purchase equipment and tools for cleanup, repair the house and water lines, pay for labor, replace lost trees, and buy a new equipment tent. Your support will also help us cope with the loss of sales and get us back on our feet. Any donation, no matter the size, will make a difference as we work to restore our home and livelihood. Mahalo for your generosity and support.
