On July 13th, 2025, our lives changed in an instant. My husband, our two young children (ages 2 years and 3 months), our three dogs, and our cat were forced out of our home after a devastating flood. Just six weeks earlier, we had a new roof installed by a national company “1800Hansons”, believing we were safe for decades to come. But a mistake in the ventilation system allowed inches of rainwater to pour into every room, destroying nearly everything we owned. We had no warning and lost our sense of security overnight. We have no relief from our home owners insurance due to a “poor workmanship” exclusion.

We are now living in a 20 foot camper on our property. Most of our belongings—furniture, appliances, and cherished keepsakes—were ruined, and we are left with only some clothes and toys for the kids. Our 2-year-old is confused and heartbroken, losing clumps of hair due to stress. We are struggling with depression and anxiety.

The contractor “1800Hansons” annd their subcontractor “AGI roofing”  are pointing fingers at each other, and we’ve been forced to hire an attorney on contingency just to try to get some help.

Neither entity was licensed to build in our area and failed to comply with permit inspections that could have ultimately saved our house.
