Help Me Rebuild After a Devastating Studio Fire…

Hi, my name is ASKYE and I’m an independent music artist. I never imagined I’d be writing something like this, but my world was turned upside down yesterday 2/2/25 at approximately 2:30PM.

Let me just start by saying how grateful I am to have access to record my music at this studio that was built by a VERY good friend of mine. He built this studio from the ground up in 2017 in the backyard of his family home that he grew up in. When I connected with him 2021, they became my instant “second family” and have taken me in as one of their own. He has provided me unlimited access to this studio not because he HAD to, but because he WANTED to. This became my HOME away from home and so much music was made here. In fact, my whole artistry was developed within this studio.

February 2, I was in the studio, recording one of my songs—a song I had poured my heart and soul into—when the unimaginable happened. The studio caught fire. It all happened so fast. One moment I was lost in my music with my headphones on in the booth, and the next, I was running for my life, terrified as the flames grew around me. I was lucky to make it out safely, but I wasn’t able to save any of my work. I lost everything—my songs, my recordings, my equipment… all gone in an instant.

Music isn’t just a passion for me—it’s my life, my therapy, my voice, and my livelihood. I make my living off of my music thanks to all of my beautiful fans who consistently stream and share my songs, and thanks to my studio family for providing me a comfortable place to make my dream a reality.

Losing my music felt like losing a part of myself. But I refuse to let this be the end of my story. I want to rebuild, to create again, and to bring my music back to life.
