On the night of 18th October, my friends home was destroyed by a devastating fire after fireworks landed on the property. In a matter of minutes, their home they lived in for over 10 years — filled with love, laughter, and memories — was completely destroyed.

Thankfully, due to changed plans, nobody was home and they are all here today. The fire tore through every room, leaving behind only ashes and heartbreak. Sadly, there was no home insurance, which means there is no financial support to rebuild what has been lost.

This home wasn’t just a building, It’s where neighbours would stop by for a chat, where birthdays were celebrated, and where the door was always open for anyone who needed a cup of tea and a friendly ear. To see it gone has left a deep hole in his family’s hearts and the community they have.

Right now, they are staying with family, trying to process the shock and figure out how to start again. They have lost everything — clothes, furniture, keepsakes, and the comfort of their own home.
