On Thursday, January 29, our lives changed in an instant. A fire broke out in the upstairs unit of our rental home, and while we are incredibly grateful that everyone got out safely, the damage has been devastating. The building is now without electricity or water, and our home has been declared uninhabitable.
Currently, my wife, our three children, and I are staying in a temporary Airbnb, but the road ahead feels overwhelming. This fire was the latest in what has been a relentless year of "one tragedy after another" for our family.
In September, I lost my job. In October, my wife was in a car accident that totaled her vehicle, leaving our family of five with only one car to share. Amidst this financial strain, we have also been navigating our daughter’s struggles with her mental health. While I started a new job in October and am working hard, both my wife and I are working around the clock just to keep food on the table. This has left us unable to be as present with our children as they need us to be during this traumatic time.
We are doing everything in our power to keep our family safe and together, but we simply do not have the funds to secure a new home. The combined costs of a security deposit, first month’s rent, and moving expenses are more than we can manage on our own.
We are reaching out to our community for a hand up. Your donations will go directly toward:
* A security deposit and first month's rent for a safe, stable apartment.
* Moving expenses to transport what we were able to salvage.
* Basic essentials to help our children settle into a fresh start.
Any support you can offer—whether it is a donation or simply sharing this link—will make a monumental difference. We want nothing more than to provide stability for our kids and begin to rebuild our lives from the ground up.
Thank you for your kindness, your prayers, and your support.
