Who is the team behind workflow?
We are passionate film students studying MA film at the University of South Wales, and we are extremely excited to be working on this project.

Fatima Isse: Director / Producer
Hi, my name is Fatima Isse; I am specialising in film directing at the University of South Wales, and I am also the producer of Workflow.

My inspiration and the reason why I want to make this short film is; it was horror films that inspired me to become a filmmaker and storyteller. To name a few of my favourite horror films: The Shining (1980), directed by Stanley Kubrick; The Conjuring "(2013), directed by James Wan; and Mirrors (2008), directed by Alexandre Aja.

As a horror fan, I enjoy the thrills and rush that come with horror fiction, and I believe that people dislike being in areas that make them feel disgusted or afraid, but I believe what people most enjoy is the rush and thrills, as well as the unknown, which gives them a sense of excitement.

Although "Workflow" is a short supernatural horror film, it also has a great message behind it: the film explores respecting nature. Ever since I was younger, I felt a deep connection to nature. I feel nature grounds me as a person.

One of the things I was very fascinated by was the ocean. Whenever I used to visit the beach with my family on summer holidays, my grandma always used to say to me, "Never bring anything back from the beach," and that really stuck with me. I know that the ocean itself is very mysterious. 5% is known to us, and the 95% is unknown.

As a filmmaker and storyteller, I believe it is important to make the type of films that evoke strong emotions in you—the kind of films you want to see but feel are lacking when you go to the cinema.

I am super excited to be working on this short film alongside my colleagues and the wonderful cast and additional crew members.

Samuel Hurcomb: Cinematographer / Promotion producer
Hi I’m Samuel and I am the Director of Photography for our upcoming horror film, Workflow. I have always been intrigued and entertained by horror films even though sometimes they can give me the scares. The horror films that had the most impact on me growing up were John Carpenter’s The Thing and Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho.

Horror films were also my introduction into filmmaking. I started shooting short horror films with my friends at home and I continued to make them into my first year of film school. During this time I learned a lot about filmmaking by just picking up a camera and shooting something. Horror was a great place to start because it’s a very experimental genre where you achieve good cinematography and great practical effects with cheap equipment and little resources.

Getting the offer to shoot Workflow made me feel right at home and it made me delighted to go back to where I started but with some new skills I picked up along the way. I became more excited after reading the script and getting to work with our Director, Fatima, who is very engrossed about horror films, and very passionate towards themes she wants to explore in the film.

Hollie Dodman: Editor
Being an aspiring Film Editor, I was immediately fascinated with the concepts and story of Workflow. I have never personally worked on a horror before, and I’m super hyped to explore the genre first hand for the first time :D

I’m extremely grateful for this opportunity, and I’m really excited to do my part in bringing you this intriguing of the ocean and its mysteries.

We need your help. And what are the benefits of supporting us?
Supporting our short film offers a fantastic opportunity. Anyone who supports student filmmakers not only gains recognition within the film community as a whole but also can see the direct impact of their contributions on the future creation of new filmmakers.

The work we've done so far and how the funds that you support us to raise will help us:
Although “Workflow” is our final major project, we feel as seniors it's more than a university project. We really want our film to be successful and professional.

We have big marketing and promotional plans for getting “Workflow” out there and into great film festivals once we have completed production and post-production, and we are confident in reaching a larger audience for our short film by using our social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube.

Your contribution will help us towards submitting to film festivals, funding location, production design, costume, and makeup, and also helping our cast and crew in travelling to set and catering.

We're currently in the pre-production stage. We’ve had successful casting calls and auditions, and we are very happy that we’ve just locked in our wonderful and talented cast for "Workflow," and the director and the cast are all ready and set for the rehearsals and one-to-one sessions.

We’ve also, as a team, done our location scouts, and we have reached out to potential indoor and outdoor locations.

We’ve also spoken and had meetings with additional crew members, such as the costume department and makeup. We are planning and mapping very carefully to make this short film a success.

The director, Fatima, and the cinematographer, Samuel, have worked on shot listing and creating mood boards.

We know and understand that the horror genre itself, music, and sound are very important, and for this we are extremely grateful and honoured to be working with talented music composers and sound designers.

Your donation is extremely important to us, and by contributing to our project, you become a part of our journey and community in making this short film a success.

We also have "Workflow" on IMDb. We're adding the entire cast, crew, extra crew members, and donors. As long as your name is not anonymous, you will receive a special thanks in our film and on the film's IMDb.
Thank you, and additional information:
We want to express our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to every donor and supporter. Every bit of help counts, and we want to take this opportunity to say thank you so much and give back.

All donors will be thanked in the film’s credits and on the film's IMDb site. Anyone contributing £100 or more will be listed as an Executive Producer.

Please follow us on Instagram for all the latest updates.

We warmly invite you to be part of our journey as we bring this film to life.

From the "Workflow" production team, thank you so much in advance for your contribution.
