Help us RALLY around Emily and Jake and their families!

My husband and I are dear friends of Emily and Jake. For those of you that are lucky to know them, you know what incredibly wonderful people they are. They are always willing to share so much of themselves with their family, their friends, and their professions.

Emily's oldest kiddo, Dillon (going by Mica now), was diagnosed with Primary Sclerosing Colengitis, a disease of the liver, a couple years ago. The plan has been to treat symptoms as much as possible until a liver transplant was necessary. Last spring marked the beginning of many hopital visits for Mica, and just after Christmas they went to the hospital one more time. They have been there ever since.

During the week of February 17th, the family got the gut wrenching news that Mica is no longer strong enough to survive a transplant. At only 28 years old, Mica had to be admitted to hospice care. They are being cared for by hospital staff and are being provided with the best comfort care possible for Mica.

While their hearts are breaking, Emily and Jake are so grateful for the family and friends that have stepped up to help during this heartbreaking time. They appreciate the love and the prayers. It is not their nature to want to ask for help--Emily and Jake would rather be the ones doing all the helping.
