Hello everyone. My name is Emilio Vallejos and I’m trying to raise money for the retainer fee of a witness who will testify at a court hearing for the custody of my daughter, Ava. I’ve been in this custody issue for 2 years now. My daughter has been with me for those two years, having been subject to a situation no little girl, or anyone, should have been subjected to. Due to the sensitivity of the case, I’m not able to disclose much of what had happened but I can tell you what has happened with my daughter while she’s been here with me.
Ava is growing up to be a fantastic kid. She is in therapy and she is working through a lot of issues that arose from what happened to her. She is incredibly resilient and now she’s being more open with her feelings and learning how to cope. She’s attending one of the best public elementary schools in Texas and performing very well. Her favorite subject is Art and she loves to draw her favorite Pokémon and her own creations she calls “The Furry Pack.” Her school has been incredibly supportive through the last two years and they are committed to helping Ava succeed in anyway possible.
Ava is also involved in extracurricular activities like scouting and mainly soccer. I have had the privilege to be able to coach Ava’s teams for the last two years (4 sessions,) and it’s been a blessing to be able to connect with Ava through coaching. She is starting to come into her own and she’s playing harder than ever this current season. She mentions that she wants to continue to play soccer and wants me to be her coach forever.
Ava has also made awesome friends in school and in soccer. She has plenty of play dates and sleepovers at my place. I love all the smiles and yelling they have while they are here. It makes the clean up and the occasional lego piece on the foot all worth it. Her friends families have been so welcoming to us to where both Ava and I feel we have life long friends.
This all brings me to my request. I found out on 3/6 that our court date for the trial will be held on May 15th with a mediation hearing on May 1st. Back in January of last year, a family study was performed. We need to pay the retainer on the therapist who performed the study. I did not expect the trial to be set so soon. I’m taking care of the legal fees that are associated but the cost of that and our other costs, such as therapy and my own medical issues, have made the retainer hard to come by. With your help, I can get this fee covered and go into May 15th with a great chance of success.
Through the grace of God I’ve made it this far. Ava is in a loving home with the stability and support system she needs to succeed in life. My fight for her is just and with your help, hopefully we can just live the rest of our lives without this burden of uncertainty over our heads.
Please know anything over this goal will go towards a small birthday party for Ava and any remaining legal fees. The timing of the court date could not have come at a worse time. Ava’s birthday is in April and all of my attention needs to be on this fight for her.
