My name is Avian, and I have been a cat foster with a rescue for 4 years now, with ideas in the works during that time to open my own rescue. I recently parted ways with my former rescue group, and my husband and I are ready to create our own and do it our way (aka, the right way!) My experience has been with everything from newborn kittens and pregnant mama cats to spicy community cats who dislike humans, thank you very much.

Our rescue's name is Glorious Purrpose Animal Rescue. "Glorious Purrpose" is based on Loki's statement, "I am burdened with glorious purpose." There are sad moments in fostering, but there are also many joyful ones, and there is nothing more rewarding than seeing our fosters go off to their new forever homes, knowing we gave them a good foundation for their future. We also chose "Animal Rescue" over cat rescue, because while we are starting small, with animals we are familiar with and only a few fosters, we are open in the future to expanding to cover dogs and other small companion animals.

As a new rescue, there are lots of expenses to start out. We have fees for filing paperwork with the state and the IRS, as well as legal representation for that. We plan to buy a domain and build a website. One of our biggest expenses will be vet bills. It is our goal to make sure vets know we are financially viable, and we only want to take in animals that we can afford to support, whatever their situation may be. On top of vet bills are the basics of food and litter, as well as assorted expenses that come up. Money raised by this fundraiser will go toward paying for our already-filed legal paperwork, and setting up accounts with vets that we trust.

Thank you so much for any donations you can provide so we can create a solid foundation for our new rescue!
