Hello, my name is Gloria and I’m in desperate need of your help! A couple of weeks ago our beloved cat, Tipsy, ate an earring and after days of medications and daily X-rays, she received a surgery as the situation was becoming too dangerous for her health. Everything seemed to go well until the 4th day post-surgery when she started looking off and all of a sudden started loosing liquid and smell very bad from her stitches. We obviously took her to the animal hospital right away cause it was a weekend evening. Even though we took very good care of her, gave her her meds and provided a safe and clean environment to rest on, she developed an internal infection that almost killed her. Because it was internal and very bad, she had to stay overnight to receive IV antibiotics and go under surgery again in order to understand the gravity of the situation, clean her and make sure it won’t happen again. Unfortunately a few days after this, a couple of her stitches broke, due to the bacteria accumulated around them internally. Her intestines almost fell out and we had to rush her to the hospital once again where she stayed for few more days under observation. We barely had the money to cover her first surgery, and we have now paid a total of 4k. We had a baby 6 months ago and for previous health reasons and a complicated pregnancy, I’m not on maternity leave/EI. We only live with one income and these vet’s bills are just too much for us right now.
Tipsy is our first baby, she made us a family when we adopted her in 2020 during Covid, and she helped us tremendously with mental health issues. She has been with me throughout my previous illness and stayed next to me during my whole pregnancy. We’re extremely bonded. My husband and I could never imagine our life without her! She’s is just 5 years old and we are supposed to have many many more years with her. We want our daughter to grow older with her!
Please, if you can, help us collect the money for her surgeries. Help us make sure that Tipsy will get to live a beautiful healthy life with the people who’d do anything for her, even start a fundraiser!
