Help us raise money for Anubis’s leg surgery!
Hi, everyone! My name is Patricia, and I am the proud “cat-mom” of Anubis. Anubis is a one-and-a-half-year-old, short-haired ball of furry trouble (in the most adorable way possible).
Anubis is a rescue cat who came into my life when he was a little over four-months-old. Anubis is an incredibly smart, energetic, and vocal cat. I have cherished every moment we’ve spent together, and I (as well as everyone around me) have grown to love him like family.
Ever since he wandered into my world, it has been my goal to give him a long, comfortable, happy, and healthy life. Unfortunately, on November 6th, my baby got himself into a terrible accident after sneaking out of my apartment.
At first, I was terrified that I would never see my baby again, but after an extensive search, complete with flyers, I found Anubis hiding in an alcove attached to the building where I live. He had been gone for over twenty-four-hours.
My initial joy at finding my baby was tempered by a horrid realization: Anubis had broken his front leg. Due to the severity of the break, Anubis has to have emergency surgery to keep both his leg and life.
As a responsible cat-mom, I have made sure to keep an updated health insurance policy for Anubis. Unfortunately, however, the costs related to this accident are extensive: there are bills for his medication, a cage for the recovery period, a new litter box, his hospital stay, and an incredibly expensive surgery. Overall, the total estimated price of his “adventure” is upwards of $8,300 (the price for the last two items alone), and his health insurance only covers just over half of that sum.
Despite being careful with my money, I am still a graduate student, and this unexpected expense is more than I can bear alone. If you could help me cover some of the expenses, I would be eternally grateful. Please, contribute to Anubis’s medical fund, and remember, no amount is too small!
