It’s taken a lot for me to set up this page. I’m not one for asking for help with anything regarding my disability but, unfortunately, it’s become apparent this may be the only way.

I am wheelchair bound, meaning I am currently unable to stand up and weight bare. Last year I had to have an emergency amputation of my lower left leg and soon I will be having my right leg amputated from the knee down. I’m hoping to be able to get some prosthetics and then lots of hard, intensive physio to start to stand and, fingers crossed, to walk. This has been a long 5 year battle. Once I can stand and walk I can lose the huge amount of weight I’ve put on and then they have promised to put me on the transplant list for a new kidney & pancreas.

We are now in desperate need of a newer WAV to transport me to and from all my medical appointments and my 3 times a week dialysis. The vehicle we are currently using isn’t adequate and it on its last legs (or wheels!)

We do receive mobility aid but we currently use what we receive for this on other medical needs.

As you can imagine a specialised vehicle that carries a person in a wheelchair is costly, so we are just trying to raise as much as we can towards a second hand one. These still comes in between £30-40k!!
