Help us raise funds for Housing

Hi there, my name is Aaron, and I just accepted my dream job in Munich Germany!

We were given a truly too good to be true opportunity to fulfill a lifelong dream of moving out of our country for a temporary expat assignment. Housing and the relocation costs were covered by the company I've worked at for 5 years. We thought this was a chance of a lifetime so we packed everything, rented our house out back in the states on contract, and moved with my pregnant wife, 2-year old son Joshua, and our dog to beautiful Munich, Germany.

On Wednesday, ironically the day our shipping container arrived with all of our belongings, we found out that my company was shutting down and with it, all of the funds for housing covered by my expat assignment were officially ending. I lost my job, income, and the living stipend paying for our apartment in the matter of one 20-minute meeting with the company CEO. Now I am in a true bind. My wife Megan is 7 months pregnant and advised by her doctor not to travel, and we have an apartment we cannot afford but are under a two year contract for. I am frantically looking for work anywhere, and applying here in Germany and abroad in the US. But one thing is very clear, I can't afford to stay in this apartment without the living stipend promised by my now defunct employer, and moving when my wife is pregnant and we can't afford movers is also a huge issue.

Apartment contracts in Germany are unique in that you pay a deposit of several months rent on top of existing rent. We cannot make these payments.

Creating a GoFundMe is an incredibly humbling and difficult decision. But unless I get a job here and at close to my US salary (which is highly unlikely) we will be in a spot we don't know how to get out of.
