Help us raise funds for Better Way Recovery
Donation protected
My name is Jane Smith and I am a trustee of the Better Way Recovery Board. Myself and my family Dan, Lucy and Josh will be attempting to jump out of a plane at 14,000ft, a tandem skydive at Langar airfield in September 2021. The purpose of our jump is to raise funds for Better Way Recovery.
Better Way Recovery (BWR) is a new charity led and supported by people who have survived active addiction, who got clean, changed, and found a new life in recovery, and who show others that change is possible. We know the devastation and carnage that is caused during active addiction, prisons, institutions, family break-ups and trauma. 100% of BWR is built on hard won experience, from the using addict to the helpless family member. We have experienced it all. BWR’s aim is to; provide a safe environment where people with substance misuse problems and homelessness can access support 6 days a week, deliver peer led groups, provide support through active addiction into recovery and beyond by showing service users new life coping skills and will work with other key agencies to meet the service user’s needs. As an experience-led charity we know the pain and desperation of living with substance misuse problems. We want to provide HOPE and be the change that shows others that change IS possible. We will also offer support to family members and loved ones who feel helpless and powerless watching their family members destroy themselves, as well as reaching out to local schools, colleges and other community groups to raise awareness and provide preventative talks.
There are currently NO services in the Lichfield District, an area covering 52 towns and villages and approximate population of 105,000 people. BWR's aim is to create a recovery community never seen before for the area. Your support would be very much appreciated.
The skydive is being funded by the family and therefore, all donations/sponsorship will go directly to help Better Way Recovery. Every penny counts. Thank you for your donations,
