I’m a Minnesota born dog musher now living in Alaska, and after years of training, qualifying, and chasing a dream that started when I was 8 years old, I’m finally headed to the starting line.

My twin sister and I grew up on a farm dreaming of becoming veterinarians and racing the Iditarod together. Today, she’s pursuing veterinary school, and I’m chasing the other half of our childhood dream with an incredible team of sled dogs.

Running dogs across Alaska is surprisingly expensive. My team is adorable, but they insist on things like food, booties, and functioning equipment to stay healthy and happy. The costs add up quickly, from entry fees to gear and travel, and every bit of support helps us get closer to the starting line. Every day, I see how much heart my dogs put into training, and I want to give them the best chance possible.

It all started with my first “sled dog,” Lucky, a Cocker Spaniel with far more enthusiasm than pulling ability. She somehow convinced me we belonged in dog mushing, and she inspired the name Lucky Dog Mushing, a reminder of where this journey began.

Before mushing, I competed in college gymnastics until injuries unexpectedly ended my career. At the time, it felt like the end of one dream, but it ultimately led me back to the one that had been waiting for me all along.

Outside of mushing, I’m usually chasing another adventure, whether that’s paddling through Minnesota’s Boundary Waters, living out of my van in the summer, or lifting weights because at 4’10”, being strong makes life a little easier.

Racing the Iditarod has been my dream for as long as I can remember. I’m incredibly grateful for everyone who has supported me and my dogs along the way. I can’t wait to share this journey with all of you as we take on IDITAROD 2027.
