« Fake It Until You Make It, Dreams and Pitfalls of the Fashion Industry » is a podcast aiming to take an honest look at the fashion designer career and discover how and what it means to make it in the fashion industry.

After the launch of our pilot episode, we are searching for funding to help buy the equipment and pay our advisor for the creation of our first season, hosted by fashion designer Marie Schaller. We will start with 6 episodes dropping every other month, interviewing fashion professionals at all stages of their careers to discuss their journey.

Through this podcast, we invite everyone to reflect on the idea of « making it » in the fashion industry, what it means, and what is the cost of it. Owning up to our own ignorance in the matter, this podcast is an investigation, inviting through various testimonials and archives to create a common understanding of the reality of this industry. What is the reality of fashion school? How do you become an Art director? Where do you get funding to start your brand? Who gets to be paid and how? And at what stage of their career?

Stepping away from dreamy fashion narratives, promotional podcasts and curated Instagram contents, this podcast aims to help the general public better understand the reality behind the fashion world. We wish to break the law of silence, to help people thrive collectively, and to bring tools to younger generations to allow them to better navigate this sector, and hopefully change it for the better.
