Help FHSA Put Up Our Spring Musical

Hi my name is Linda Ames Key, I am one of the the Drama teachers at Fordham High School for the Arts in The Bronx. At our school, students can major in one of six studios (Drama, Musical Theatre, Technical Theatre, Visual Arts, Instrumental Music and Music Production and/or Dance) and then take that major every day for four years along with their other academic subjects. Our students are incredibly talented and passionate about their artistry. Along with my brilliant colleagues, Ian Subsara, Larry Johnson, Kiersten Foster and Lisa Mota, I am working on rehearsing the annual Spring Musical SHREK. Students rehearse over 100 hours after school and weekends to put on the musical and you can see the joy and passion in their faces as they rehearse to create a professional production.

This year's devastating educational budget cuts by Mayor Eric Adams mean that we have NO available budget to spend on costumes, props, marketing, merchandise and/or show t-shirts. The Spring Musical includes 100 student participants (performers, designers, backstage crew) and is definitely a high point for our school community.
