Mission:

I’m With the Banned Book Club is dedicated to defending the freedom to read and supporting literacy awareness by distributing age-appropriate challenged books and fostering inclusive conversations across diverse communities to empower young people to critically engage with literature and media.

How it Works:

Teens (ages 16–18) will receive free, age-appropriate books.

Those who join and participate in a respectful one-hour book discussion will earn $25!

Discussion options: 1:1 or in a small book club (both facilitated by trained and vetted adult volunteers).

How It Began:

I made a post about how I am paying my 19, 14, and 11-year-old (white) boys $10 for each banned book they read.

The post went semi-viral, and everyone insisted that I begin to crowdfund for the effort.

So, I started this organization to put diverse, banned books in the hands of young people.
