Help Us Provide Comfort and Care for Patty

Hi everyone, my name is Kayla, and I’m making this page on behalf of my incredible mom, Patty, and my wonderful (and stubborn) dad, Bernie. She has always been the heart of our family—fiercely loving and caring, endlessly supportive, and full of life, silliness, and sassiness. We are doing everything we can to ensure she is comfortable, cared for, and surrounded by love.

My mom was diagnosed with diffuse astrocytic glioma, a rare and extremely aggressive brain cancer, in February. The disease has progressed extremely rapidly and has taken away her ability to communicate, move, and care for herself all within a matter of weeks.

She now requires 24/7 care, most of which will be out of pocket as we reach the custodial care stage. We are also facing challenges where skilled nursing facilities won't accept her with private insurance so that will also be out of pocket. We are raising funds to cover the out-of-pocket costs for home caregivers, ensuring Mom is safe and as comfortable as possible while allowing our family to focus on cherishing our remaining time together. Every donation—big or small—helps relieve some of this immense financial strain and allows us to provide her with comfort and dignity. Each hour of care is about $45 so $10-15k per month,
