With heavy hearts, we share that our beloved mom, Cathy Nguyen, was recently involved in a serious motor vehicle accident that resulted in life-threatening injuries and significant brain trauma. Thanks to the grace of Buddha, an incredible team of doctors and nurses, and the prayers of family and close friends, our mom was able to pass through the initial stage of difficulties.

We anticipate a long recovery process with no clear end in sight, but we remain hopeful that she will regain her strength. She is a loving, caring and wonderful mother.

Since our mother lives 648 miles away from us, we have been taking leave from work, traveling back and forth to be there with her. We also have been battling with insurance to cover the enormous medical bills and to seek approval for long-term care. Therefore we are now facing huge financial gaps that we are unable to fill ourselves. Our mother is considered a dependent person that would require 24/7 nursing supervision care. To help support our family through this difficult time, we have set up a GoFundMe account.

We would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to those who have visited our mother in the hospital, offered guidance on finding medical care facilities, and provided our family encouragement to keep moving forward.
