Help Us Provide a Trombone for a Dedicated Student
Donation protected
Hi all!
I am a music teacher in the Southwest suburbs of Chicago, IL in the midst of building up a band program that was ravaged by COVID. We are slowly building every year, but the resources for student families to access instruments is limited. Our school's instrument inventory is unfortunately full of dated instruments and does not support a full instrumentation. To repair the old instruments is on par or more expensive than finding newer instruments, and we focus on budget-friendly rent-to own programs that still only draws in small amounts of students to band each year. Most of my band/music budget goes toward consumables (general music instruments, ukulele/guitar/drum strings and stick replacements) and purchasing flex music for a smaller band program so students have quality works of music to learn and perform for their community.
Recently, a family of one of my band students who has been dedicated and passionate in their past two years in band, had to choose between a necessity for parents to continue working or continuing to rent their instrument. Their instrument is sadly one that we do not have any stock of at the school yet, and I am reaching out to help fund the purchase of a used trombone in good condition that will become part of our school's inventory for that student to use (and for others to use once their time in our building is done).
This student has shown immense growth as a musician and person through their experiences in band, and I want them to have the opportunity to continue in band while they are still enrolled at my school.
Your donation goes towards keeping the fire of student's passion going and keeping them involved in music, which has lasting social, emotional, and educational benefits.
