Hello, my name is Silvia, and I run a small independent cat sanctuary in New Mexico. I care for over 60 rescued cats who live in a safe, enclosed space with freedom, shelter, and love. Together with a small group of faithful friends who help me provide food, medical care, and support for the sanctuary’s renovations, we’ve created a peaceful home for these animals who have nowhere else to go.

But recently, the safety of our sanctuary has been threatened in a way we never expected — rattlesnakes.

Due to recent floods in our area, rattlesnake activity has drastically increased, and we’ve started finding shed skins all over our land. Our sanctuary sits on 5 acres, and we’ve spotted multiple snake trails, some even near the cats’ enclosure. I’m terrified for their safety — and for the safety of the other animals who share this space with us.

We urgently need to install specialized snake-proof fencing around the cats’ outdoor corral to protect them from this danger. The cost of this fencing is significant, and as an independent sanctuary, we rely entirely on personal funds and the kindness of others to survive.

Any donation, big or small, will go directly toward purchasing the snake-proof mesh and securing the cats’ home. If you can’t donate, sharing our campaign means the world to us.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart — from me, from the cats, and from the life we’ve built here.

With hope,

Silvia
