We are the Save Gillam Bay Collective and we are asking for your help today to save Gillam Bay before it's too late.

Gillam Bay is one of Abaco's greatest treasures -- a breathtaking stretch of natural shoreline enjoyed for years by Bahamians, second homeowners and visitors alike. It's the last untouched coastal ecosystem on Green Turtle Cay.

Home to mangroves, wetlands, marine nurseries, migratory birds and an extraordinary diversity of wildlife. Gillam Bay has protected our shoreline from storms and erosion, while providing a peaceful place for families, beachgoers, birdwatchers and nature lovers.

Today, this irreplaceable place is under threat of development. The development proposal includes 9 villas, a restaurant & bar,, administrative buildings and other facilities in one of the island's most environmentally sensitive areas.

No public consultation was held for the residents to voice their concern before this decision was made. Our local government also voted unanimously against the project, and more than 2,300 people have signed a petition for Gillam Bay to become a protected natural reserve (in mere days).

The Save Gilliam Bay Collective is a group of concerned Bahamian residents, government officials, business owners, second homeowners and visitors in Green Turtle Cay who are opposed to any further development on Gillam Bay.

To protect Gillam Bay, we must take our concerns directly to central government. This will require experienced legal counsel, independent environmental experts, travel to government meetings and the resources needed to ensure every legal and environmental process has been properly followed.
