Help Us Plant 1,000 Life-Saving Ice Apple Palms and Secure Karaikal's Future!
Our Goal: $2,600 USD
The Crisis: A Thirsty Town Needs Its Roots
My name is Vishwaa R, and I'm the founder of Aerovil Services. We are executing this critical environmental project in collaboration with leading organizations, and we are proud to announce that our fiscal sponsor is the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Institute for Education, Research, and Scholarships (IFERS), based in Los Angeles. This means your donation is tax-deductible and subject to their stringent financial oversight. We are also collaborating with IUSA (International Universities Sports Association).
Together, we are dedicated to driving innovative, community-led solutions for public good. We are based in Karaikal, Puducherry, a coastal region facing continuous threats from extreme weather and a critically declining groundwater table.
We believe the most powerful solution lies in our native environment: the majestic Ice Apple Palm (Borassus flabellifer), or Nungu. This isn't just a tree; it's a drought-resistant guardian that radically improves water tables, stabilizes the soil, and provides food and habitat.
We've launched Aerovil's Green Initiative for National Advancement, a project designed to plant and nurture 1,000 Ice Apple Palms across schools, roadsides, and public parks in Karaikal. This is more than planting; it's an investment in a sustainable, resilient future led entirely by passionate students and local volunteers.
Our Vision: Planting Trees, Growing Stewards
This initiative is unique because it focuses equally on planting and long-term survival.
Global Collaboration & Fiscal Sponsorship: Our efforts are financially managed by IFERS (501(c)(3)), offering tax benefits to our US-based donors and ensuring accountability. Our hands-on operation relies on a network of volunteers, including over 22,000 students from the Integrated Scientific Advancement Consortium (ISAC). We are mobilizing the next generation to be environmental stewards.
Sustainability Focus: The Ice Apple Palm is perfectly suited for our coastal environment, requiring minimal water once established and offering crucial shade and ecological value.
Transparency & Accountability: We are pioneering an "Adopt-a-Tree" model that includes a digital dashboard and Pilot IoT Soil Sensors to track the health, moisture levels, and growth of every single sapling. This ensures every tree not only survives but thrives.
Where Your $2,600 Goes
While the base cost for the initial planting of 1,000 seeds and basic materials is approximately ₹75,000 INR (around $900), our $2,600 USD goal is essential to cover the full spectrum of our sustainable model, guaranteeing the long-term success of every palm we plant.
Purpose
Goal Justification
Initial Planting & Mobilization
Covers the cost of 1,000 seeds, tools, manure, site preparation, eco-awareness banners, and volunteer kits.
Pilot IoT & Digital Dashboard
Funds the development and deployment of IoT soil sensors for real-time monitoring of the trees’ health, ensuring we can intervene before a tree is lost.
Long-Term Maintenance & Irrigation
Provides essential resources for post-plantation care, including water transport, long-term fencing, weeding, and continuous nurturing activities by our volunteer teams over the crucial first 1-2 years.
Project Expansion & Contingency
Allows us to replace any saplings that don't survive and expand our afforestation efforts beyond the initial 1,000 target, laying the groundwork for future phases.
Every dollar raised goes directly into the soil and the success of this life-changing environmental drive.
Join Our Mission
We are already backed by government acknowledgment, having submitted a detailed project report to the Ministry. Now, with the collaboration and financial oversight of IFERS, our 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor, we need the grassroots support of global citizens like you to turn this plan into reality.
By donating, you're not just planting a tree; you're securing a permanent water source, enhancing biodiversity, and empowering a generation of students to lead the change.
Please help us reach $2,600 by donating today and sharing our story with your network. Let’s bring the green back to Karaikal, one Ice Apple Palm at a time!
Thank you for helping us grow a greener, more resilient India.
