We are reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for your help in honoring the short but powerful life of a little boy who touched everyone he met—Baby JJ.

JJ came into this world already fighting. Born dependent on heroin and left alone in a hospital bassinet, he started life in silence—without the comfort of a parent’s embrace. For weeks, child services searched for his biological father. After a DNA test confirmed the match, JJ was placed in the care of his dad, where he finally found warmth, love, and safety.

But JJ’s story took another heartbreaking turn.

When his biological mother began to fight for her sobriety and reconnect with her son, a shift happened. We believe jealousy grew in the heart of the father's girlfriend, and in a moment of unimaginable cruelty, she shook Baby JJ—causing severe brain damage. He was just over a year old when he lost his life due to Shaken Baby Syndrome.

JJ fought through addiction. He fought through abandonment. And he fought to love and be loved. No child should have to endure so much in such a short time.

In his memory, and to remind others of the fragility and value of every child’s life, we are raising funds to place a memorial park bench in his honor. A place where families can sit, reflect, and where his spirit can live on in laughter, peace, and community. A place that whispers, you were here, you mattered, you are loved.
