We are the UNC Achordants! Founded in the spring of 2001, the Achordants are a low-voice a cappella group at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a mission to entertain and to promote the message of diversity through music. Since the group's inception, the Achordants have performed a wide variety of music in as many different locations as possible. The group never loses sight of its mission statement and continues to hold a rich tradition of advocating charitable causes and supporting multicultural organizations. When it comes to collegiate a cappella, the Achordants believe that the key is to have fun and to not take yourself too seriously.

Our funding has been cut by nearly 70%, and at the same time, costs for essentials like jerseys, recording, mixing, and live sound production have risen significantly. We’ve had to switch companies for these needs due to budget constraints, but even with those changes, we still face large deficits that threaten our ability to perform at the level our audiences expect and deserve.

To bridge this gap, we’ve set up a GoFundMe to raise money for:

• Professional live sound for concerts

• Recording, editing, and mixing for our next album

• Jerseys for our newest members, so they can proudly represent the group on stage
