To our many clients, supporters and friends,
So many of you have already helped us, by entrusting us to be a part of your cycling experiences & travel memories over the last 14 years, THANK YOU! More than ever, your trust and repeat business has been invaluable to us. The rapid spread of the Covid-19 epidemic in Europe hit us hard and fast, totally shutting down the bike touring businesses that we have been building since 2006. This has affected our company directly as well as our guides and suppliers who rely heavily on our business.
What Happened
We went from a record breaking January, to issuing refunds, in under 3 weeks. We are all on reduced or no pay and continue to work from home – mainly on the cancellations and refunds that have now almost totally depleted our cash reserves. To those who graciously allowed us to keep their balance to be used as a future credit - THANK YOU!
What makes this especially difficult is that it comes after 4 long winter months, during which we keep paying salaries, and this year invested heavily in a new bike fleet and office systems.
What we are Doing
We have accrued a large comercial bank loan and a small interest free government loan to try and pay our staff and suppliers through to the end of the season, but aside from adding more debt, we now know it will not be enough. We have opened our workshop to servicing local client’s bicycles with a view to keeping our mechanics busy and turning over a few sales. Without additional capital, we will have to liquidate.
How You can Help
For that lifetime pilgrimage across Spain, the adrenaline charged ride through the trails in Sintra, that sun soaked cycle down Portugal’s coast, for the guide that gave you his or her all to make your holiday exceed every expectation, and for the people who supported you on your bicycle adventure: we ask for a small contribution so that we can continue to provide our services, helping create memories that last forever.
In this unprecedented time, we ask you, something we could never have imagined doing, for any support you are willing and able to spare.
