Hi my name is Athena and me and my girlfriend Jamie have two beautiful cat daughters, one of which is Enya, a gorgeous domestic long hair with an insane attitude and ridiculous amounts of energy considering she weighs less than my left shoe.

Enya first came into our lives nine months ago as a shy stray who had been found out in the rain riddled with fleas. After taking her in, we syringe fed her and raised her into the lively and sweet girl that she is today.

Two days ago, Enya was taken to the vet for a routine spaying procedure, as well as vaccinations and microchipping. We were assured that everything went perfectly, but quickly noticed that she didn’t seem to be in perfect health.
She threw up her painkillers, was experienced a coughing fit, and was wheezing/having trouble breathing.

Our first trip to the emergency vet showed some fluid in her lungs and laryngitis. We left with antibiotics and antacids, and monitored her at home overnight. Today, however, her condition continued to decline - she urinated on herself, started refusing food, and was extremely lethargic.

We took her back in to the emergency clinic where she was definitively diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia, and we were advised to have her admitted overnight for fluids, iv antibiotics, oxygen therapy and monitoring. The vet estimates enya will require this hospital admission for atleast the next 24/48 hours after the initial 12 hours. So far, that’s where we are. We have no idea what’s going to happen going forward, for we’d like to do whatever is within our power to help her recover and bring her home.

Unfortunately, our financial situation is not great, ofcourse we have paid for all fees with everything we have but now we are stuck paying off about $3000, so we are asking if anybody would be willing to open their hearts and help us out during this difficult time. Any contributions would be greatly appreciated - please help us get our sweet girl back to her cheeky, playful, loving self and bring her home.

Update:
We took enya home for a trial off oxygen and unfortunately she has taken a turn for the worst. We are on our way to a closer emergency vet to discuss our options moving forward.
We appreciate your support during this time
