Help us pay for Slim’s Passing Vet Bills

Slim is a therapeutic riding horse at Gaitway, who belongs to one of our instructors, Alisa Harris. He is a barn favorite and loved my many of our students. Over the course of a day, he developed a rare condition which inhibits his ability to stand or walk straight. He got checked out by a vet early in the day, but his health continued to decline. Later that night, we decided to bring him to the emergency clinic at LSU. He will have to go under full anesthesia surgery due to the fact that he cannot hold himself up anymore.

Unfortunately, Slims condition progressed to a point that would completely diminish his quality of life. We made the decision to put him down, because we still don’t know what exactly was happening with him. We do believe he had developed a brain disorder. I want to thank everyone for their support. Now we just need to cover euthanasia cost and cremation expenses. Please keep Alisa in your prayers.
