As most of you know we just moved in August and our 3 kids and myself caught covid and recovered quickly. Skyler caught it after we had all recovered and has now been admitted to the hospital. We went to an emergency room and an urgent care center and finally the hospital. He started with a fever and extreme sore throat, then progressed to a wet cough, then he got to the point where he could not get up or he would cough so much he would have a hard time breathing and catching his breath. His oxygen levels dropped to 80 walking at home on day 9 of symptoms and we decided with some good advice to take him in and he was admitted immediately. He is still testing positive to covid and they are treating that with an iv antiviral medication. He also has pneumonia on both sides of his chest so he is receiving a high flow oxygen and iv antibiotics and steroids. He has to lay on his side or stomach for his numbers to be stable and for the pneumonia. The hardest part has been that the kids and I can’t go physically visit him because of covid protocols. He needs to stay for at least 5 days and if he can pass their tests he can come home to us, but I know he will still need recovery at home and not be able to work for some time. I am asking for your kindness and support. I appreciate all of your prayers and positivity sent our way. The meals have been such a lifesaver as well thank you so much! I know he is where he needs to be to come home and get healthy, but that always comes at a cost. I hate to ask, but if you can help we would greatly appreciate it.
