Help Us Own a Home for People with Disabilities

Tax deductible
Pillar was formed when a group of parents feared what would happen to their children with disabilities when they could no longer care for them. From this Apple Patch Community (now Pillar) was formed. We built 17 homes in an integrated community.

Help us to fully own the home that Emily, Alisha, and Kia live in! All funds will go directly to securing their home, so that these ladies and people for disabilities for generations to come will always have a safe and comfortable place to call home.

Kia can always be found with a smile on her face and infectious energy. She loves singing along to Baby Shark and would not miss a dance party. Kia is constantly on the move and ready to make friends at any turn. She could happily spend hours on a water slide but also loves to attend church on Sundays.

Alisha is a cook and animal lover! She has been working on her cooking skills at home with staff and putting together a meal plan each week with Emily. Alisha loves animals and has a natural knack for working with them. She also has been a part of our Regional Champs Special Olympics softball team.

Emily loves helping others and is always ready to lend a helping hand. She volunteers and takes her nutrition and exercise goals seriously. She is close with her family but loves the independence that her home at Pillar has given her. Emily says it best in her own words in a letter to our executive director:

“Hey Karri,

I want you to know how thankful I am for accepting me! This place (Pillar) has been more than I could ever think of! The staff at Pillar goes beyond their job. I like the Market. It is great. Whatever we want, she gets it. I like how our houses go places on the weekends. When I’m off on Tuesday, staff sometimes take me out. I also enjoy going to parties at the chapel! For the first time in my life I feel like I have sisters!

Thanks for everything,

Emily”

Your gift secures this homes for these Kia, Alisha, and Emily, helping us to fully own it.

We are seeking to raise $80,000 by November 10 to pay off the loan on Kia, Alisha, and Emily's home, as part of our larger House 2 Home campaign to own all of our owns.

As part of House 2 Home, we are renaming all of our homes after apple varieties in honor of our founding as Apple Patch Community. If we reach our goal, we will send a survey out to all donors to help us choose the new apple name for the home!
