Hello. Unfortunately, we have found ourselves in a situation that has become too familiar - company layoffs. I was let go last month as my employer continued a series of layoffs at the company. Once again, the timing could not have been worse. In order to improve our life situation, we have made the decision to move to North Carolina to have a lower cost of living as well as have access to Duke Medical Center. There are several specialists at Duke that can help address my wife's ongoing medical issues, so North Carolina became a very specific destination for us to target after exhausting our resources here to help manage her health struggles. She has been incredibly resilient as she has fought through various medical concerns and one VERY big health scare that she was fortunately able to overcome. As her husband, it has been a difficult journey to be on with her and the sense of powelessness to help when she needs it most, is particularly crushing. This major relocation effort will not only help get her in front of the right doctors, but it will also help us rebuild our lives. In addition to addressing my wife's medical needs, this would also allow us to be closer to family members in Florida that we want to help and support as they deal with their own difficult medical and life situations.

The good news is that I was able to find a job with a company that I have admired for several years. The position is based in North Carolina as well, so I am very excited about the job opportunity itself, but even more so because of what it means for us to get our lives back on track. All of that said, the layoff has put us into another severe financial bind and we don't have the resources to make a physical move across the country. We know our family and friends have been incredibly supportive, but if this post can be shared with others who may be in a position to help us out in any way, it would mean the world to us! We HATE to be in this situation, especially as we already had so many medical and financial struggles to address. Our hope is that we can raise enough funds to cover some of our immediate financial needs until I begin getting a regular paycheck. These funds would also help cover the physical move across country so we can settle closer to Duke Medical Center and be more proximal to family members

Thank you all again for your love and support!!
