After a lot of work, we finally made it to the last step. We passed our pre-opening inspection, received our letter of approval, and officially have the green light to start serving hot food at Our 3rd Space. Now we just need a little help covering the final annual food permit fee required by the city to activate the kitchen. Then that’s it, our kitchen will be ready to go and approved to serve to the public!

Our 3rd Space has been open for almost two years as a Queer and BIPOC owned community space focused on giving people access to affordable space, events, art, and opportunities that are usually hard to find or too expensive. Over the last two years we’ve built a space that supports small businesses, local artists, nonprofits, fundraisers, community events, and so much more. We provide affordable commercial units for small businesses trying to get established and an affordable safe space for organizations like the Southwest Washington Pride Alliance and H.O.M.E. Keeping a 5,000 square foot arts and entertainment space running is not easy, especially while trying to keep things affordable and accessible for the people who actually need it.

Earlier this year we got approved to serve drinks and pre packaged snacks. Now we’re finally able to move into hot food service through our new kitchen. We’ll be able to serve premium hot food during events and fundraisers, helping create steady income that goes directly back into keeping the space running and accessible to the community.
