We are local artists looking to open our own gallery. As a team, we are overcombing the barriors presented by Spastic Quadroplegic Cerebralpalsy, Autism and ADHD. The system would have us believe that there are boundaries and limitations for people with physical, developmental, or neurological challenges that can not be overcome. We are out to prove that anyone can succeed, regardless of the box the system would put us in. Our goal is to open an art gallery, education and event space that will offer opportunities for people of all abilities to learn and grow in community.
Mike is 33 years old with spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy, causing him to be born 11 weeks premature. Over the years he has had his ups and downs, but with the help of his amazing family and friends he has been able to overcome them all. He comes from a small town in the Great North West where he learned the importance of hard work and community. He has a high school education where he had a 3.5 GPA even with his developmental challenge. He loves fast cars, art, rodeos, cold beer and good looking women.
A common misconception when people first meet or spend time with him is that his developmental challenge affects his mental state. In his case, that is most definitely not true. His developmental challenge affects him in a purely physical manner, causing him to require a wheelchair, but not stopping him from doing anything that he sets his mind on. For example, starting Mike Marble Designs in high school. He is also very outgoing and loves to live life to the fullest and make an impact on people along the way. It's all part of "My Life, You're Welcome to It". He is excited to broaden his influence by starting Inspired Infusion Gallery with Shylo.
Shylo is a single mother of three, educational assistant in a special education classroom, and owner of Harp & Hammer. She is Autistic, ADHD, and a survivor of abuse. She has overcome many challenges to start her own business, Harp & Hammer, where she sells her original crochet creations, and partners with local artists to sell their work as well. These experiences have taught her to be a better mother, teacher, and human being. She has enjoyed being able to make a difference in the lives of her students and business partners, and is excited to broaden her influence by starting Inspired Infusion Gallery with Mike.
