I have just been diagnosed with advanced stage metastatic cancer. Based on the level of spread, it is stage 4 cancer. I am waiting on the results of the surgical biopsy performed on Thursday (second biopsy in 2 weeks) to confirm the origin site of the cancer, as the origin is still unconfirmed, though my oncologist has informed me that the results of tests, scans, and procedures done so far strongly indicate colon/bowel/GI origin, with ovarian also being possible based on the size of the mass in my left ovary.

When the origin site is confirmed, I will receive an official diagnosis which will allow the doctors to make the best treatment plan for me. Aggressive treatment will begin immediately. I will be seeking care out of state at MD Anderson (Houston). Some of my treatment (chemotherapy) can be performed here in Albuquerque, while some of it will take place in Houston. I will be updating this page regularly as I receive more information and can confirm my official diagnosis.
