Our beloved Travis has stepped into one of the hardest and most sacred roles imaginable: full-time caregiver for his mom, Rosie Renee Rowland. "Rowy" is now in end-stage progressive MS and receiving in-home hospice care. It’s just the two of them living in his home. Travis lifts her, feeds her, bathes her, manages her medications, and makes sure she’s never alone in a moment of pain. But he can’t do it alone.
Travis has stepped away from paid work in order to be fully present at home, and the expenses of daily life, caregiving, and preparing for what’s ahead have continued to grow.
If you know Travis, you know he is a force. He’s a drag performer, a hospitality queen, a connector, a confidant, a cultural shapeshifter, and a giver. Whether through the sparkle of nightlife, or the quiet depth of one-on-one conversation, Travis has poured himself into holding space for others. He has shown up for all of us….fierce, funny, tender, real….for his friends, his communities, and for so many creative projects. So many artists in the bay have had their work supported and transformed and buoyed by his generosity of creativity and spirit.
Now it’s our turn to show up for him.
We’re raising $20,000 to help Travis and his mom stay supported during this chapter: to cover essential living costs, urgent caregiving needs, and to make sure they both have what they need as they walk together through long-term palliative care and end-of-life preparations.
Please give generously and share widely.
Let’s make sure Travis can keep doing what he does best: loving hard, holding it down, and caring with his whole radiant heart.
THANK YOU!
