Oklahoma is becoming increasingly unsafe for queer folks, especially for trans people. My husband and I are in desperate need to move to a safer place, but we are in so much debt that saving for a major move is impossible. We owe a 13k on a car that we were forced to buy because our old used car was totaled and even with a trade in gave us a 4k negative equity that we've only just finally paid after 3 years, and we have 8.5k credit card debt that we've been forced to live on at multiple points over the years due to various hard situations. We can't pay off the credit card because the minimum payment is only barely above the monthly fees, and the car payment is so much monthly that we can't even think about paying more on the card until it's out of the way, which will take us over 3 years from now. The mounting financial strain has made it impossible for us to plan for a future where we can feel safe and secure.

Moving to a safer place would mean everything to us. It would give us the opportunity to thrive instead of drowning in growing debt just to survive month to month. We dream of a life where we can focus on our well-being and safety, rather than constantly worrying about making ends meet in an environment that feels increasingly hostile.
