I am starting this fundraiser to help me and my son move from Sacramento to New York for a fresh start. After years of hardship, including homelessness and escaping a domestic violence situation, I was finally able to regain custody of my son last September. When he came back into my care, he showed signs of neglect and malnourishment, with visible bruises and health issues that broke my heart. I immediately took him to the doctor to have everything documented and began working to give him the care and support he needs.
My son has endured a lot in his young life, including physical and mental abuse, and he now struggles with PTSD, ADHD, and ODD. I have my own mental health challenges, including CPTSD, Bipolar 1, and severe panic disorder, but I am committed to healing for both of us. We attend counseling every week and are doing everything we can to move forward. The reason for our move to New York is to be closer to family who love and miss us, and to give my son the chance to be surrounded by people who care. I have a job waiting for me there, but right now, we are living in a friend's hotel room and are considered homeless.
We are asking for help with gas for our 2,552-mile journey, two nights of hotel stays, and the remaining car repairs we need—new bushings, an alignment, and possibly control arms for both the driver and passenger sides. I have already put a lot into fixing the car, but we still need these repairs to make the trip safely. Your support would mean everything to us. With your help, we can cover these expenses and start a new chapter in a safe and loving environment. I want nothing more than to see my son happy and thriving again. Thank you for considering a donation to help us rebuild our lives.
