Hi, my name is Cinnamon, and I’m a mom doing everything I can to protect my children.
My 10-year-old daughter, Princess, was recently diagnosed with a serious kidney disease called FSGS related to an APOL1 gene variant. She is currently under the care of a nephrology team, has undergone a kidney biopsy, and is being treated with aggressive medications that suppress her immune system. She is also being referred for a clinical trial.
Because of her condition and treatment, Princess is now more vulnerable to infections. Unfortunately, our current rental home is no longer safe for her health. The house has ongoing issues including mold, rodents, and pest infestations that are beyond what I can control as a renter. With her diagnosis, exposure to these conditions poses a real medical risk.
I was already planning to move this year, but her diagnosis has made this urgent.
My goal is to move my family into a rent-to-own home that provides a clean, stable, and safe environment while keeping monthly housing affordable long-term. The initial down payment and first month’s rent are costs I cannot cover alone right now, but once established, I can manage the monthly expenses and provide lasting stability for my children.
This fundraiser is to help with:
• Down payment and first month’s rent
• Moving and basic setup costs
• Securing a healthier living environment for my daughter
I am working, advocating for my daughter medically, and doing everything I can as a parent. This is a temporary bridge to help us get into a safer home so my daughter can heal and thrive.
Any support — whether through donating or sharing — truly means more than I can express. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any kindness you’re able to offer.
With gratitude,
Cinnamon
