I've been living in my apartment for quite some time, and after a lot of hard work and planning, we finally decided to take the big step of moving out and buying a house to call our own. As part of preparing for this move, I tried to sell my gaming setup—which included a Playstation 5, a 4K gaming monitor, and accessories—on Facebook Marketplace. The buyer promised to pay me $550 and we agreed to meet outside my apartment. Unfortunately, during the transaction, the buyer lied about their payment method and, while I was checking my wallet, took off with all my things without paying. I filed a police report and spoke with detectives, and even tracked down some of the buyer’s other accounts to help with the investigation. Despite all this, I realized I needed to find another way to cover the closing costs for our new home, especially since I’m also caregiving for a loved one.

This money will go entirely and directly to moving costs, which are crucial for us to start this new chapter. I never wanted to make a GoFundMe, knowing that others face even tougher situations, but this experience has taught me to trust my gut and be careful with strangers.
