Our situation is becoming even more difficult because my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. She also has congestive heart failure, high blood pressure, COPD, and severe arthritis in both knees. She can no longer move up and down the steps in our apartment building, which has made daily life incredibly hard. She now has to use a bedside commode in the living room and sleeps on the couch because she can't get into her bed. She hasn't been able to take a shower in a very long time. We do have a car, but I am unable to drive due to severe anxiety and depression, and my mother can't drive because she can barely move at the moment.
