I’m starting this fundraiser for myself and my family as we prepare to relocate from Tennessee to Oahu, Hawaii. I’ll be moving with them so I can continue caring for my older brother, who has cerebral palsy and needs round-the-clock assistance. Being part of his daily care is deeply important to me, and I currently work as his paid personal caregiver. Unfortunately, the company that employs me does not operate in Hawaii, which means this move will also interrupt my income even though my responsibilities as his caregiver will continue.

While there are programs that may allow me to keep caring for my brother after we move, the process of getting everything transferred, approved, and established could take several months. During that time, I may be without my regular paycheck while still helping provide the daily support he depends on. I’m doing everything I can to prepare by saving as much as possible and continuing to contribute toward these costs myself.

The support from this fundraiser will help cover moving expenses and basic living costs during this transition while I work toward becoming employed as my brother’s caregiver again in Hawaii.
