Loki's diagnosis and sudden passing -- our sweetest handsome boy
On the morning of Saturday, February 28, our cat Loki was suddenly in a lot of pain and his lower body was paralyzed. We immediately brought him to a nearby ER and he was diagnosed with a Saddle Thrombus, where a blood clot was formed in the aorta --blocking any blood flow towards the lower body. To make things worse, an X-ray was done and we found that he had a cancerous tumor in his lungs :(
It was so sudden as he was always fine, he ate normally, and it was only a few months ago since his previous visit to the vet where he was healthy with no heart murmurs. Cats are known to be extremely good at hiding their illnesses, and we unfortunately learned it the hard way -- it was only through an X-ray during the day-of that we discovered his tumor.
Our doctor said that there was no saving Loki as his prognosis was extremely low and he was in critical condition. The doctor tried breaking the blood clot but nothing worked. Our whole family was there for him and we even fed him his favorite food. Despite everything, his eyes still looked at us with joy and we made sure to give him so much love even until the very end. He always had his favorite Bubba Gump shrimp plush with him and he held on to it until the last second. Unfortunately, after our best efforts and spending eight hours in the ER, Loki tragically passed away :(
As a family we were all devastated in the ER and our home felt so different and empty without his precious joyful soul. He was the most clingy cat ever, he loved talking as if he knew human speech, and he always asked for cuddles. We'd give him head scratches and ear rubs he loved so much and he'd always ask for more. Sometimes he'd walk on two feet trying to imitate his human parents. He was sweet and kind, and he never scratched or attacked anyone ever in all 5 years of his life. He was born on Christmas eve and continued to be a Christmas miracle every day.
Please support my family - $2,000 ER fees
Unfortunately, Loki's passing came at the most sudden and worst timing. As a family we are already financially struggling so this really pushed us beyond our capabilities. We had no choice but to borrow money and use a Credit Card to pay for his death and the ER fees. The total cost was $2,000 and it would mean the world to us if you could help us gather the funds to pay our debt so we can mourn Loki with ease. I'm sure with your support, your love will reach his soul.
Even if it's just a dollar, we will be eternally grateful to you.
Thank you so much for reading and caring for both Loki and our family. May Loki live on forever in the next life receiving all the ear rubs and food he could ever ever want.
All the love,
Mulya Family
