That’s how many my wife Michelle must navigate to get to our 2nd floor apartment.

My name is Bob Daum. My wife Michelle and our twins Stephanie and Briana live in the south in a 2nd floor apartment.

Currently, she has a severe muscle strain in her left lower leg and finds it painful to put weight on it. She literally has to crawl up step by step, stopping at least once to rest.

Add MS to that, and it becomes even more difficult.

When we originally signed the lease in 2023, we requested to transfer to a ground floor apartment when one became available. But at that time, she was able to walk without assistance and climb the stairs. Now, it has become medically necessary to transfer apartments. She requires assistance every time she walks and uses a walker to get around the apartment.

We are expecting a ground floor apartment to become available in the next couple of weeks, but we need help.

There is a $500 transfer fee. We will have to have movers to move the furniture, and we’re estimating that to cost to be at least $2,000. That hopefully will include enough for a cleaning crew to clean the apartment when we leave.
