Dear friends, family, kind-hearted strangers and dog lovers,

It’s a race against time to help save our young rescue boy Thor so we are reaching out to all you kind hearted people to help us. Although we can never mend Thor’s heart, with your help we can give him a good quality life and lots of love in his remaining months and hopefully years.

He was rescued from a life of appalling neglect and cruelty after he was seen on Gumtree for £40! The person who bought him reached out to us and we just couldn’t turn our backs on him – he was in such a desperate state. He had been kept in the most awful conditions; living in a back garden on a cold wet cushion, with no shelter. A young pup just waiting to die. We can only speculate as to how long he had been there and why he had just been discarded so cruelly. He could hardly walk, had bald patches all over and sores on his tummy and worse of all he kept passing out!

Thor was diagnosed with a grade 6 heart murmur when we took him under Tia’s Legacy, our rescue, last November. This was shattering news for us as Grade 6 is the most severe, indicating a critical condition with a potentially life-threatening prognosis. Although only a small rescue, run entirely on donations and our own earnings we decided to try to give him the best life possible.

Since that time Thor has been on a special diet and medication for his condition and has been enjoying life to the full in his lovely foster home. Unfortunately, Thor has taken a sudden turn for the worse and is now starting to have trouble breathing. Our vet says he needs a change to his medication and to determine this he desperately needs another ultrasound scan at a cost of £626, which the rescue just can’t afford!

We are already paying out approximately £500 per month for Thor’s medication and special diet and this is crippling us. Quite simply we are out of funds and need your help as we can’t just give up on this boy.

If Thor is scanned and put onto the right treatment plan, he can live the rest of his life happy and pain free. A delay in getting the scan and new medication will mean he will deteriorate to a point where nothing can be done to help him, and he will die.

Thor is a sweet boy of 22 months he deserves to live and be happy after his terrible start to life. We desperately need everyone to come together and help us pay for the scan and ongoing treatment to give him the best life we can, for however long he’s got.
