Karen Black: A Historical 35th Anniversary Project

Donation protected
Hi everyone, This is Samoa, the guitarist and co-founder of The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black. Before I ask for your help, let me tell you a little bit about us:

Legendary artist and band leader, Kembra Pfahler, and I formed the band in 1988 in NYC. Our first gig was at Pyramid Club on the Lower East Side in 1988. We have been performing all over the US and the world ever since. Our live shows are a unique experience combining visual art and music, and this year makes our 35th year as a band. This band is our flesh and blood.
In the middle of last year, I got my hands on a Gibson Flying V guitar and it knocked me out and inspired me to rock harder. This is a true story. We have been working on new songs with our new drummer, Eric Robel, and our longtime friend and bass player, Gyda Gash. We are working in the studio to make a 35th anniversary special album and plan to release it as vinyl and digital.

Financing the project has been rather difficult since we don’t belong to any music label. However, completing our project with your support would be a historic achievement. We love all the people who have been coming to see us play and showing us support all these years. It keeps us going. We are asking if you can help us make this historic album.

We thank you for supporting our artistic endeavors.
