About the project

Senescence is a prospective short film about a drifting pool junkie who accidentally kills his younger brother's rare fish, and embarks on a journey to gamble and barter his way to funding a replacement. The script was accepted into the Northwestern University film department's Advanced Directing Sequence. With your help, production will take place over the course of the 2026-27 school year.

A note from the director

My name’s Harry. I’m a film student at Northwestern. After producing and DP'ing various other projects, I’m psyched to make my directorial debut with Senescence, a film about three of my favorite things: billiards, hoarding aesthetic artifacts, and rare Thai fish. The script has been a labor of love and a product of months of collaboration with my friends and producers, Martin, Lily, and Andrew. We received some seed funding through the Advanced Directing program, but to successfully metamorphose Senescence into the cinematic medium there are many more costs that we need to cover: equipment, locations, actors, production design, post production, and food, among other things. Any backing will go a long way, and have a direct impact on the quality of the final product. We appreciate everyone's support!
