Hi internet :)

We’re Sofia and Claire, best friends trying to make our first short film happen for real.

We wrote a short film called PIVOT, and we’ve reached the point where we stop pretending we can do everything ourselves and finally ask for help.

PIVOT is a psychological short film about a man trapped in a surreal loop, forced to confront the resentment and insecurities shaping the way he sees women, and himself. It explores internet culture, empathy, generational trauma, and what happens when the things we consume start consuming us back.

This is a full passion project. No investors. No studio backing us. Just a script, a tiny team, and a slightly terrifying amount of belief that we can actually pull this off.

We’re doing this because creativity is what makes us feel alive. We’d genuinely rather risk failing while making something meaningful than succeed doing work that drains us. Art has always mattered to us, and we want to treat this dream like it deserves to be taken seriously.

The film started as Claire’s idea. Over the years, we’ve shared writing, poetry, and creative projects with each other, and the moment we started talking about this story, we knew we wanted to build it together.

Sofia studied Media Production and have kept working on sets on and off ever since. Like a lot of creatives, she's heard the question: “Are you sure you want to do that?”
This film is the answer.

We live in different countries (Canada and the U.S.), and we’ve been writing this long-distance through late-night calls, shared Google Docs, and a lot of “wait… what if we actually did this?” conversations. Now we’re planning to shoot in Atlanta and turn the script into a real film.

We’re raising $20,000 to bring this to life.

The funds will go directly toward:

  • Paying our cast and crew fairly
  • Renting camera, lighting, and sound equipment
  • Securing locations (including a soundstage day)
  • Production design, wardrobe, and practical effects
  • Post-production (editing, sound design, color grading)
  • Festival submissions and deliverables

We’re not paying ourselves.

Every dollar goes into the film and the people helping us make it. We want to do this the right way, not cut corners.

We keep joking that if 10,000 people gave $2, we could make the film… and then realized that’s kind of how community projects actually work!

If you donate, you’ll get a Special Thanks credit in the film, which means your name will live in our movie forever.

If you can’t donate, sharing helps more than you think.

Thank you for reading and for helping us try to turn a Google Doc into a real movie! It genuinely means the world to us.

Love,
Sofia, Claire & the PIVOT crew
