Hello! We’re Nathan Zack and my husband, Samuel Story. In the last months of 2025, we took a leap of faith and bought a school bus with the dream of turning it into our very first home. The excitement was real—we were ready to embrace this adventure and live out a dream we’ve had since we got married nearly five years ago. But, as life often does, things didn’t go exactly as planned.
After buying the bus, we were hit with major unexpected expenses—repairs, transportation, tools, power needs—everything you can think of to make it livable. Every dollar we spent was strictly for the bus and our future in it. We told ourselves that if we just consolidated everything—selling what we didn’t need, selling our car, letting go of our apartment—we could move into the bus, do what we could as we went, and make it work.
So we did. We started building. We framed out the bedroom walls. We began adjusting to life on the bus—not just the two of us, but with our two cats as well. It hasn’t been easy, especially with the cold weather setting in. And just as we were making progress, another disaster hit, leaving us completely financially stranded.
Converting a school bus into a home has been our dream since we got married. Even with our wallets feeling empty and the temperatures dropping, we can’t bring ourselves to give up. We’ve been hesitant to ask for help, but we’ve realized that sometimes dreams take a village.
We’re asking for any support you’re willing to give. It doesn’t have to be big—every single dollar will go directly toward the bus build, materials, repairs, and getting us safely and comfortably into our home on wheels.
We want to keep everyone updated and bring you along on this journey—the setbacks, the rebuilds, and hopefully the moment we can finally say we did it.
So what do you say? Help us not let this dream die.
With gratitude,
Nathan Zack & Samuel Story
